VELO x McLAREN FORMULA 1 TEAM – RACING SIMULATOR COMPETITION AT CHARING CROSS LONDON - Terms and Conditions 2025
These terms govern the VELO x McLAREN FORMULA 1 TEAM – RACING SIMULATOR COMPETITION AT CHARING CROSS LONDON (the “Promotion”) (the “Terms”).
1. The Promoter of this Promotion is British American Tobacco (UK) Limited, Building 7, Chiswick Business Park, 566 Chiswick High Road, London, England, W4 5YG (“BAT”). By entering this Promotion, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms.
2. The Promotion is only open to entries from UK residents (excluding Northern Ireland) who are (i) aged 18 and over; and (ii) adult nicotine consumers.
3. The following are not eligible to participate:
i. employees of BAT or of any British American Tobacco plc group company; or
ii. employees or any other persons involved or assisting with this Promotion or otherwise professionally connected with the Promotion or its administration (including but not limited to, any person responsible for redemption of prizes or for supplying prizes for the Promotion).
4. The promotion opens at 08:00 on 30th June 2025 and closes at 20:00 on 6th July 2025 (the “Promotion Period”). 8 winners will be selected on 16th July 2025 in accordance with the process described in paragraph 13.
5. To enter the Promotion, entrants must:
i. Achieve the best lap time on the racing simulators;
ii. Follow all health & safety guidelines at the pop up event;
iii. Share their name, telephone number and email address with the designated Brand Ambassador on the day, and ensure their lap time has been recorded by the Racing Simulator along with their name and inputted into the Velo competition form.
6. Entry to the Promotion is limited to 1 per person. No purchase is necessary and the Promotion is free to enter. For the avoidance of doubt, entry can only be made at the Velo x McLaren Formula 1 Team Pop Up at Charing Cross between 30th June to 6th July 2025. Multiple entries are not allowed.
7. BAT reserves the right to validate any claim and may ask for proof of identity and/or age of any entrant or guest at any point. BAT accepts no liability for any delays to, or prevention of, an entrant from participating in the Promotion by exercising its right to validate the identity and/or address and/or age of an entrant.
8. All entries must be made directly by the person entering a relevant Prize Selection. Entries made using deceptive methods or processes are not allowed, and all such entries will be disqualified. BAT is not responsible for changes in entrants' email account after entering a Prize Selection.
9. There will be eight (8) Prizes in total. The Prize consists of admission of the winner, and one (1) guest who must be aged 18+ and an existing nicotine user, to the McLaren Technology Centre, Woking, England on 25th August 2025.
10. The Prize does not include any costs for travel, accommodation, food and drink (other than what may be provided at the experience), spending money, tax or personal expenses and any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and any costs that are incidental to the Prize are the responsibility of the winner.
11. There is no cash alternative, and the Prize is not transferable or exchangeable. Dates are not exchangeable if you cannot attend the experience. BAT reserves the right to replace any, or all, of the Prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond BAT control makes it necessary to do so.
12. Entries for the Prize Selection must be received by BAT by no later than 20:00 (BST) on the 6th July 2025 . Entries made outside of the Promotion Period are otherwise not in accordance with these Terms will not be accepted.
13. The winners will be the first eight (8) entries selected based off of the top-charting scores on the racing simulator at the Velo x McLaren Formula 1 Team Charing Cross Pop Up Event.
14. The winners for the Promotion will be notified by the 16th July 2025 by email with details of the Prize. Entrants who have entered the Prize Selection and have not won a Prize will not be notified.
15. In order to redeem the Prize, the winners will need to respond to the email sent by BAT with an email confirming acceptance of the Prize. The winners will be allowed 72 hours from the time the email is sent to respond and provide the requested information. Please check your email carefully to ensure that you do not miss the email from info.gb@velo.com.
16. If the winner does not provide the required information to BAT within 72 hours of notification, the winner shall forfeit their Prize and BAT shall be entitled to award the Prize to an alternative winner in accordance with the process described in paragraphs 13 and 14 and next entrant having scored highest in chronological order.
17. The Prize will be sent via email to the email address provided following the winner confirming their acceptance of the Prize.
18. BAT reserves the right to review, edit, alter or remove any entry in its sole discretion, which does not comply with these Terms or which it reasonably believes does not comply with these Terms.
19. BAT reserves the right to exclude any entries which it believes to be fraudulent or based on misconduct, or if, in its reasonable opinion, it considers that there is a significant risk that the entrant may bring the BAT or any other British American Tobacco plc group company brand into disrepute.
20. BAT reserves the right to amend, terminate or temporarily suspend each Prize Draw or the Promotion if, in its absolute discretion, it considers it necessary to do so. BAT shall not exercise this right unreasonably.
21. No responsibility will be accepted by BAT for incomplete, invalid or illegible entries and these will be declared void in the sole discretion of BAT. The Prize Draw is not endorsed, sponsored, or associated with any of the brands or companies related to the Prizes.
22. BAT will not be liable for any internet or mobile connection or other charges incurred in entering the Prize Draw or in a winner using or enjoying a Prize. If using a computer or any other device and/or internet-access which is not owned or paid for by the entrant, the entrant is reminded to get the owner's permission before entering.
23. BAT does not guarantee continuous uninterrupted access to emails or information society services at any time. It is possible that numerous factors outside the control of BAT may interfere with the operation of the internet or information society services. No responsibility will be accepted for any technical or other difficulties in entering or any entries delayed or corrupted.
24. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents, or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up a Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
25. Personal data supplied during the course of this Promotion will only be processed as set out in BAT’s privacy policy: https://uk.velo.com/privacy-policy Please also see paragraph 27 in relation to BAT’s obligations with regards to the announcement of winners.
26. Any enquiries about personal information held by BAT, including any request for deletion of personal data, may be made by contacting info.gb@velo.com to obtain the contact name and address to which to send an envelope marked "Data Protection Request".
27.BAT must either make available information that indicates that a valid award under this Promotion took place and so BAT will send the surname and county of all of the winners of this Promotion to anyone who contacts BAT using the details in paragraph 28 requesting such information within one month of the date of the Prize Draw.
28. If you object to any or all of your surname or county being made available, please contact BAT via info.gb@velo.com. In such circumstances though BAT must still provide the information and winning entries to the Advertising Standards Authority upon request.
29. These Terms shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and the English Courts will have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any dispute.
